Join the Buffington Island Battlefield Preservation Foundation for the annual Memorial Service being held at the Battlefield Memorial Park at 11:00 A. M. The Sons of Union Veterans are the longtime hosts of this event. At noon, lunch will be served at the adjacent Portland Commnity Center to any guests who wish to attend. During this event, the Buffington Island Battlefield Museum will be open to the public at the Community Center (admission is free).
