Foundation members Mark Later and Darryl Smith will be giving a Battle of Buffington Island tour on Saturday. November 7th. Meet us at the memorial park by noon. We will cover the lead up to the battle, then car caravan for additional tour stops. The tour is free, but donations to the Foundation are accepted and will be used for developing more interpretive signs for the battlefield.

We are working on getting access to walk the Old Portland Road to see the deep ravine where many Confederates made their escape, and others did not. This walk is along an old lane and is flat.
